Over the years, the Schola has presented concerts and vesper services at Old Mission San Fernando Rey. Mission Hills, California. On one such occasion, Sunday afternoon, November 29th, 2009, the Schola¬†presented a concert of Sacred Music, entitled, “Christmas in Renaissance Style.” The program included Gregorian chant, and works by Josquin des Prez, Palestrina, Praetorius, Britten and Ravanello. The concert concluded with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Claretian Father John Raab, the Celebrant. The concert¬†was under the direction of choir founder, Marianist Father Ted Ley, SM, D.Mus; with Mary Ann Loftenius and Vicente Bastidas-Elizondo, Assistant Conductors. The program was prefaced by performance of the oldest known Christian Church melody, in Koine Greek. This is the type of concert most frequently presented by the Schola.
